Biography:

Honorable Edward D. Levinson

Bachelor of Architecture, University of Pennsylvania, Master of Architecture in Civic Design, University of Pennsylvania (Atelier of Louis I. Kahn). Taught at Temple University, Florida International University, and Professor Emeritus of Architecture at Miami-Dade College, where he taught courses in Architectural Design, History, Theory, Communications, Ecology, and Man and Environment. Professor Levinson is presently with Yorktown University, where he is teaching Architectural History.

He has served his community with work on the White House Conference on Domestic Affairs, the State of Florida Historic Preservation, and the American Association for State and Local History. Professor Levinson is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and the Society of Architectural Historians. He was the recipient of grants from the Florida Citizens Committee for the Humanities, and the National Endowment for the Humanities. He has served in an elected capacity as Councilman in Miami-Dade County, and is President of ADA Research and Compliance Analysts. He has appeared as an Architectural expert on local as well as national television, and is about to embark on his 29th architectural tour of the European continent.

Publications:

Prof. Levinson has authored a text: Architectural Rendering Fundamentals, contributed a chapter to Man and Environment, authored environmentally-related television scripts, produced multi-media Urban lectures, and written articles for Progressive Architecture. Additionally, he has conducted tours of Europe with Architectural students, as well as Architects enrolled in Continuing Education Courses, which Prof. Levinson prepared.
